“EUROPEAN NETWORK MEETING OF STUDENTS OF EARTH AND GEO-ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES IN ALBANIA”

Period of activity:         25th of July – 1st of August 2010.

Place for the camping:  Gjiri i Lalezit - Shen Pjeter - Ishem/DURRES.

Participation:                 At least 20 – 40 (students) participants from every European country and 50 – 70 participants from the organizing country.

The beer on the camp will cost 1Euro for Beer Draft

Important to reach the Camp site:

- If coming from Durres, at the train station there is a bus departing at 01.00 PM every day to Gjiri i Lalzit, take off at the last station "Shen Pjeter".

- If coming from the Tirana Rinas airport, there is shuttle bus every full hour from Rinas to Tirana. Then take bus from Tirana to Durres but take off middle-trip in Maminas. The bus station from Tirana to Durres is at the main Tirana train station. The trip from Rinas to Tirana costs 200Lek (about 1.3Euro) and from Tirana to Maminas 100Lek (0.7Euro). When in Maminas find a casual car or look for buses going to Gjiri i Lalzit (Shen Pjeter). They can stop anyplace if you make Auto-Stop sign to them. In the 13:30 the bus from Durres passes there so you can look out for it. On the 25 of July there will be 2 cars from us, waiting for you in Maminas center, from 16:00 until 18:00. Please calculate you trip.

- If coming with a car, take the highway connecting Tirana and Durres. When reaching Maminas village, exit the highway toward the direction of Gjiri i Lalzit (approx. 22 km to reach destination).

The amount payed and wired for participating in the event isn't reimbursable. The taxes and camp bulding costs have already been payed by us for all the registered participants. Because of that, there can be no reimbursement.

Useful Information:

1. The temperatures are forecasted to be from 30 to 36 degrees celsius, so please prepare yourself with bathing suits, flip-flops, solar cream, towels, and any beach equipment you can carry.
2. As in every Eugen, you have to bring your own tent and sleeping bag.
3. Bring with you an ID.
4. There will be hiking fieldtrips so walking gear and hiking shoes are recomandable
5. The road speed limits are maximum 90Km/hour. When in cities there are speed limits of 40km/hour. Please be very careful because road police can be very strict.
6. There is no entrance fee that we know for entering Albania, and the road circulation is free.
7. The albanian currency is LEK. You can't directly use euros, but sometimes people can exchange them for you. The normal transfer rate is 1Euro=135Lek.
